Sing The Hits Of Nina Simone (Karaoke CDG) standards. Karaoke CDG. Published by Pocket Songs (PS.PSCDG1611).
Nina Simone was known as The High Priestess of Soul, a nickname richly deserved, given her extraordinary range, impassioned vocal performances, and commanding stage presence. She first found success in 1958 with a rendition of I Loves You Porgy from Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess. Throughout the 1960's she was a vocal proponent of the civil rights movement and wrote and recorded many songs that addressed the concerns of African-Americans in the southern United States. Her influence is still felt today, particularly among hip-hop artists who routinely sample and remix her work. Ten of Ms. Simone's most lasting contributions to jazz, soul and gospel music are presented here for your singing pleasure.
Each Pocket Songs PSCDG album contains a complete performance with a professional vocalist as well as the karaoke tracks of each song, for the at-home performer. CDG discs can be played on a regular CD player but require a CDG player to see the graphics.
