By Guillaume Dufay

Look Ballades and Rondeaux
Detailed Description

Ballades and Rondeaux composed by Guillaume Dufay (1397-1474). For AAT/ATT instruments. Miscellaneous Music. Early Music Library. 3 Scores. Published by London Pro Musica (MM.EML0317).

This further selection from the secular works of Guillaume Dufay (c.1400-1474) includes works mostly from the beginning of his career. Generally speaking, his ballades were early works, - three are even dated in one source, including C'est bien rnison printed here (1433). During Dufay's lifetime the ballade largely went out of fashion: by his death the rondeau completely dominated secular music, apart from a few virelais. English translations included. CONTENTS: Craindre vous vueil (rondeau) C'est bien raison (ballde) Mon chier amy, qui aves vous encompense (ballade) La belle se siet (ballade) Puisque vous estez campieur (rondeau).
