Look Videns Dominus
Detailed Description

Videns Dominus composed by Adrian Willaert (1490-1562). For SATB choir a cappella. Liturgical Use: 5th Sunday of Lent. Text: Latin. Choral. Vocal score. Text Language: Latin. Duration ca. 3 minutes. Published by Notre Dame Choir Editions (PE.NDC036).

With Text Language: Latin. Choral.

A trenchant setting of a paraphrase of John's Gospel depicting the raising of Lazarus, this brief motet is one of the most striking of the composer's early works. Unfolding in an arch shape the piece builds to and subsides from a powerful central climax at Christ's words: "Lazarus, come forth!".
