Packed with delightful exercises designed to improve technique and build confidence, this series turns practice into play. While the series is named Dozen a Day, the exercises are meant to be broken down and learned in groups of two or three before moving on. Once the first dozen – or Group I – has bene mastered and perfected, Group II may be introduced in the same manner, and so on for the other Groups. The exercises can even be transposed to different keys to add a challenge when needed. This Mini book is perfect for those just starting out before moving on to the rest of the books in the series! Whether you're just starting out or looking to brush up on your basics, each simple exercise prepares your fingers for more challenging pieces down the road. An essential series for beginning pianists of all ages!

A BOOK FOR ANY AGE

I suspect that this book was written afterPREP., 1,2,3, & 4. Edna's ideas are crystallised in this book, making it ideal for impressing upon some the importance of articulation and the physical requirements for executing them. It works well with beginners, and teenagers who only ever played notes.

Best fun and successful excercise book !

Beginners age 4-9 can start off with this book. The exercises are short, and so it's easy to succeed! My students love putting a happy face on the empty faces drawn above each exercise when they pass that exercise. It starts off at C,B,D, and slowly expands, adding techniques. You have an opportunity to throw in a lot of music vocabulary with this book. My students love working through the different colors of each level.
