Look Hungarian, Op. 39, No. 12
Detailed Description

Hungarian, Op. 39, No. 12 by Edward MacDowell (1861-1908). Edited by Lynn Freeman Olson. For Piano. Masterworks; Piano Solo; Solo. Alfred Masterwork Edition. Early Advanced level piece for the Piano Solo event with the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) Festivals Bulletin 2008-2009-2010. Masterwork; Romantic. SMP Level 9 (Advanced); NFMC Level: Very Difficult Class 2. Sheet. 8 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.2636).

For the more advanced student, this will make an exciting recital piece, much like the "Hungarian" works of Liszt and Brahms. It is to be played "Presto con fuoco," and there is a definite dance feel to the work, complete with indications of marcato, and marcatissimo. There are many running scales in sixteenth notes, a wide use of the keyboard, excursions into neighboring tonalities, running octaves, and large block chords.

About SMP Level 9 (Advanced)

All types of major, minor, diminished, and augmented chords spanning more than an octave. Extensive scale passages.
