Through the centuries, Christmas traditions have developed and changed, but this song draws our thoughts back to that first Christmas night when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. “Ever wonder what it was like on that first Christmas night…no sleigh bells ringing, no church bells pealing, but the stars shown bright ‘round Bethlehem that night, as shepherds lay sleeping the angels came singing…” Set in the key of E-flat major, the vocal range for the melody is from B-flat below middle C to the C above. 2 pages.
