This arrangement can be played by an advanced beginning band or a second year band. Kids love this song as preschoolers and will enjoy this upbeat arrangement as well. There are numerous percussion parts for those large percussion sections. The parts can also, however, be covered by a smaller section. Directors can work on the dotted quarter – eighth note combination as well as the articulations. All sections can and will be heard in this arrangement. Young trumpet players often overpower the rest of the band. There are several sections in this arrangement where the trumpets rest and the woodwinds and low brass take charge. The call and response between the winds/brass and percussion will also be a highlight of the performance.
