Angels, Ever Fair and Bright

By George Frideric Handel

Detailed Description

Angels, Ever Fair and Bright (from "Theodora"). Composed by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759). Arranged by Robert Sieving. For SSA choir, piano (string quartet). Janet Galvan Roots & Wings Series. Concert, Sacred. Octavo. Published by Roger Dean Publishing (LO.15-2716R).

Robert Sieving has created a three-part setting of this "opera seria" soprano aria from George Frideric Handel's "Theodora" that retains the original mood of supplication, albeit in a more life-affirming vein, with a text seeking a benevolent heaven's protection. The mood is one of gentle simplicity, as in a child's prayer.
