Three Chinese Miniatures is a three movement masterwork by award-winning composer Robert Jager. Commissioned by the Republic of China Band Association for the Seventh Asian-Pacific Band Convention, this captivating concert/festival gem employs Western-influenced settings of three Chinese folk songs. Its contrasting movements, entitled "The Wind," "Send Jin De Ma" ("A Maiden"), and "A Love Song of Kang Ting City" are ideal vehicles for introduction of the pentatonic scale, and offer an abundance of multicultural teaching opportunities.
