About Gene Grier
Gene Grier was a nationally known composer, author, educator and recording artist. He had over 1,000 of his compositions published by some of the world's leading publishers. He wrote children's musicals, cantatas, solos, piano collections, and textbooks. He was a 29-time winner of the prestigious ASCAP Popular Song Writing Award. In the last several years, 11 of his children's recordings were placed in nomination for a Grammy Award in the Children's Music Field.
Gene was President of EverGreen Morning Press and Birdsongs Unlimited - two of America's newest and highly regarded choral music publishing companies. He was active within the church, and continued to sing on a regular basis in the adult choir and the men's chorus in the church.
He was a former Executive Vice President & General Manager of J.W. Pepper - Detroit, who, after touring as a soloist with The Norman Luboff Choir, later became an Executive Editor for The Lorenz Corporation. He considered it a privilege to have his music published by Alfred Music Publishing Co.
