About Tammy Waldrop
Composer/Arranger/Clinician/Editor/Church Musician and "Ringleader" are all nouns that describe the busy person of Tammy Waldrop, a native of Hobbs, New Mexico. A graduate of Baylor University with both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Theory with an emphasis in composition, Tammy has been writing and arranging for handbells and choral choirs since 1980, with over 300 publications with 16 publishers. She developed the handbell division of Word Music, where she also served as assistant choral editor, and then went on to establish her own company, RING OUT! PRESS, which is now a part of the Jeffers Publishing Group. She has served as musical director in numerous churches working in choral, instrumental, and drama ministries.
Tammy clinics handbell workshops and festivals nationwide. She has served as publications chair on the Area IX, American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR) board and on the Greater Houston Handbell Association board.
In 1988 Tammy teamed up with Bob Burroughs to win the AGEHR National Composition Contest with Fiesta!! and she later won the 1991 Area III composition contest with Carousel. She was deemed Composer of the Year for 1997 by Jeffers Publishing Group. She has received ASCAP's standard award for the past ten years.
