Some songs not in standard keys. Chord names too big and in funny font.

GREAT BOOK. THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST BOOK I HAVE. THE CHORDS ARE WRITTEN IN LARGE PRINT , EASIER FOR ME TO SEE IN VENUES WHERE THE LIGHTING IS DIM. AND THE SONGS ARE GREAT FOR THE FOLKS IN THE RETIREMENT AND NURSING HOMES THAT I PLAY FOR. THANKS AGAIN

One of the mayor aspects of this Standards Real Book of Sher Music is that a big number of well known melodies (the so called refrains) are preceded by their verse . This sometimes really important intoductional part of a composition is mostly rather unknown even to experienced musicians (and singers!).Also I am well pleased by the chords above the melodies; they are up to the actual standards of playing them.I hope Sher Music wil bring out a sequel to this book full of Standards. It is not difficult to find another 250 beautiful melodies in the Great American Songbook which also deserve a very clear Sher notation as we are - in the meantime - accustomed to!

I can't stress enough what a HUGE difference it makes to have the alternative harmonizations printed above the staff in large, readable font. Compare this book to ANY other collection, with their small letters and an unimaginative voicings, and you can see why playing from this book is a true joy. Some of the pieces have both soloist and rhythm section charts, along with alternative endings and cadences at the end of each phrase. I consider myself a reasonable musician, and I have played from other FAKE books, but this one is different. I actually sound like I know what I'm doing with this one. What a difference!
