The Schostakovich Trio 1 came

The Schostakovich Trio 1 came complete with all parts and good printing. My only complaint is that the paper used is very slick and does not erase easily, so if you plan to change fingerings many times recopy it on your own paper for editing.

Incomplete

the product placement says it includes individual parts for cello/violin and shows pictures of said parts but I only received the score for the music in the mail. Impossible to play from this unless you have magnifying glasses for the cellist/violinist to use to read their parts from the score.

Challenging but rewarding

Probably not a very well-known piano trio, but definitely a well-written one. This is a great piece for the cellist to show off his/her expressiveness in the high register, and also a showpiece for the whole ensemble during the frantic semiquaver sections. A relatively short (only one movement, about 13 minutes) piano trio, but a good contrast to the other more Romantic trios, like Schubert's, Chopin's or Tchaikovsky's.
